Capital Connection · Deal Flow

April
Monét

I put athletes and family offices in the same room, and I make sure both sides know why they're there.

Strategic advising and capital connection at the intersection of athletes, investors, and opportunity. Founder of 48X and the 48 & Forward Foundation. Seventeen years building the network, and one athletic career of my own that ended early enough to teach me what's at stake.

The Thesis
An athlete is not a client. An athlete is an asset class that happens to walk and talk, and almost nobody is treating them like one.

On one side, athletes with real capital, short windows, and no map. On the other, family offices, funds, and operators looking for aligned deals and access they cannot buy. Both sides want the same thing. They rarely end up at the same table.

That is the whole business. I know both rooms, I speak both languages, and I have spent seventeen years earning the trust it takes to make the introduction mean something.

Who I Work With

Two sides. One table.

Most people in this space serve one side and pitch the other. I represent the table itself, which is why both sides pick up the phone.

For Athletes

Access you cannot get from an agent

Your career is the shortest window you will ever have to build something permanent. I connect you with the investors, family offices, and operators worth knowing, and I make sure you walk in educated instead of impressed.

  • Introductions to vetted capital and operators
  • Deal flow suited to your capital and your timeline
  • Financial education before any decision gets made
  • Strategic advising through transition and beyond
  • A network built over seventeen years, opened to you
For Family Offices & Investors

Access, alignment, and athletes worth backing

Athlete capital is real, underserved, and hard to reach authentically. I bring you relationships built on trust rather than transaction, and I filter for genuine alignment before anyone takes a meeting.

  • Direct access to athletes and their decision makers
  • Curated deal flow and co-investment opportunities
  • Partnership and brand alignment with credible talent
  • Convenings that put both sides in the room
  • A connector who protects the relationship, not just the deal
How I Work

Connection is the product. Trust is the moat.

I

Capital Connection

The core of the practice. Putting the right athlete in front of the right capital, at the right moment, for the right reason.

  • Introductions and warm access
  • Deal flow, both directions
  • Alignment vetting before the meeting
II

Strategic Advising

Counsel through the decisions that shape what comes after the career. What to say yes to, what to walk away from, and who actually deserves a seat.

  • Opportunity evaluation
  • Partnership and philanthropy strategy
  • Transition planning and positioning
III

Financial Education

Nobody should sign anything they cannot explain. Education comes first, always, and it is the reason the connections hold.

  • Wealth Beyond The Game sessions
  • Player development presentations
  • Resources for athletes and their families

Seventeen years of public relations, brand strategy, and crisis work built the network this practice runs on. That experience still shows up in every room. It is simply no longer the product.

Wealth Beyond The Game

Athletes are taught to earn. Almost none are taught to keep.

The money arrives fast and the window closes faster. As a licensed life insurance producer, I teach the protection and legacy layer most athletes are never shown, and I do it long before anyone talks about structuring anything.

Education before decisionsYou should understand it completely before anyone builds anything. My job is making you fluent enough to ask better questions of every professional you hire.
Protection is the foundationLife insurance is not only about what happens if. Built properly, it is a protection and legacy asset that works throughout your life, not only at the end of it.
Built for a short windowBig income, few years. The work is turning peak earnings into something that outlives the career.
The family, not just the athleteThis journey touches the entire support system. The people around you deserve the same education you get.
Wealth Beyond The Game. An invite-only, combine-style financial literacy experience for athletes at every level.
The room I wish someone had put me in. Athletes, families, and the professionals worth trusting, together before the money moves.

My Story

Grace got me here. Grit keeps me here.

Every good thing I have came after something broke.

I came up a competitive athlete in the heartland and I believed basketball was the whole plan. Then my knees decided otherwise, and the identity I had built everything on ended before I was ready to let it go.

What came after is the part nobody photographs. I started over more than once, through healthcare, then journalism, and finally into public relations, where I found the work I was actually made for. Every room I walk into now, I reached by rebuilding. That is not a hardship story. It is the reason I am useful.

I am a woman of faith doing her best. I have been carried through things I could not have handled on my own, and I do not pretend otherwise. Grace is not a soft word to me. It is the thing that showed up when the plan did not, and it is why I am still standing in rooms I once had no business being in.

So when I sit with an athlete whose career just ended, I am not guessing. When the foundation restores a scholarship for someone whose dream got interrupted, that is personal. I am not here to be impressive. I am here to be the person I needed.

Success with intention. There is always a way forward.
The Life

I close rooms the same way I cook. Slowly, from scratch, with better ingredients than the situation strictly requires.

People assume the life outside the work is a distraction from it. It's the opposite. Everything I'm good at professionally, I practice at home first.

I

From Scratch

Breads, pastas, and sauces, made the long way on purpose. Two hours of Sunday sauce will teach you more about patience than any deal ever will.

  • Nothing rushed, nothing from a jar
  • The standard I hold everything else to
  • Where I think best
II

On Screen

Television and film. Acting keeps me sharp on the thing this entire business actually runs on: presence, and knowing how a room reads you before you speak.

  • Comfort in front of a camera
  • Timing, delivery, composure
  • A second life I'm not giving up
III

The Host

Hosting is not hospitality. It's strategy with better lighting. The way I set a table is the same instinct that tells me who should be sitting across from whom.

  • Guest lists built like a thesis
  • No pitch at the table
  • The best conversation is the unscheduled one

Class isn't decoration. It's a standard you hold when nobody's watching, and it's the reason people trust me with a relationship before they trust me with a deal.

The Table

Everyone wants a seat. I set the table.

The most valuable thing I do is put the right people in one room and get out of the way.

Wealth Beyond The Game
Invite-only, combine-style financial literacy for athletes at every level.
Capital Convenings
Athletes, family offices, and operators in one room, built to a thesis rather than a guest list.
Player Development Sessions
Presentations for professional and collegiate athletes and the families beside them.
48 & Forward Foundation
My 501(c)(3). Athlete transition and community impact, and the home of the Pearl of Everything.
The Through Line

One idea a week, from every room.

What athletes should know about capital, what allocators should know about athletes, and what I am learning in between. No noise, no pitch.

You're on the list. Welcome to the table.
Let's talk
If you're an athlete with capital, or capital looking for athletes worth backing.

Introductions, deal flow, strategic advising, financial education, or a room worth building.
